Chichester celebration as Tourism South East and Bourne Leisure 'Create the Magic' for 15,000 staff

Tourism South East (TSE) and leisure giants Bourne Leisure recently celebrated a partnership that has seen more than 15,000 Bourne team members nationally complete the 'Creating the Magic' and 'Signature Service' training programmes.

Trainers who have delivered the programmes, based on TSE's Welcome Host scheme, received certificates from TSE's managing director Robert Collier at a special event held at Bourne Leisure's Church Farm Holiday Park, Chichester.

The latest 'Creating the Magic' programme has trained 6,350 Bourne Leisure staff. Those who have undertaken the training range from front of house staff working, for example, in bars, reception and catering, to back of house functions such as administration.

Robert Collier said: "A huge number of people have successfully completed 'Creating the Magic' and 'Signature Service'. In the past year alone 2,531 have enjoyed the training. We're delighted to be associated with it and wish all those newly trained the best in their careers.

"Over the 13 years it has been running, Tourism South East's Welcome Host has been a hugely successfully scheme. The care we take of our visitors is crucial to success in the Tourism Industry and Bourne Leisure set a fine example."

Bourne Leisure is the umbrella brand for Haven Holidays, Butlins and Warners, and making guests welcome and ensuring they have a good holiday is central to their ethos.

Sue Davies, Human Resources Manager, Bourne Leisure, said: "The presentation marked an important moment for us and underlines our commitment to customer service. Welcome Host, which we have adapted for our use in 'Creating the Magic' and 'Signature Service', is an excellent training scheme which will assist team members to realise their full potential and help give our guests a great holiday."
