Committee Report in to Tourism
A report by the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee has criticised the Government for the lack of support for the tourism industry.
The report, by an influential Parliamentary committee concluded that there was much more the Government could do to support the tourism sector in the UK.
Specific criticisms included the decision to cut funding to Visit Britain by 18% over the next three years which the committee described as 'baffling', and the fact that Tourism seems to be an 'after-thought' for the Government.
Tourism South East fully support the findings of the report and urge the government to take action to implement the report's recommendations.
