Regeneration Projects
...rejuvenating coastal and rural areas
Tourism South East is involved in a range of regeneration projects across the South East. The following pages detail some of the coastal and rural projects TSE is delivering with a range of partners. We have grouped these projects into four areas:
Resort Regeneration
remains high on the agenda within the region and TSE is involved in projects aimed at job and business creation, infrastructure improvement, brownfield site development, improved public realm and quality of life.
Market Towns
have been traditionally been at the heart of rural life in England, however fortunes have declined as a result of various economic and social changes. TSE is working to promote the vitality and viability of market towns through tourism.
Rural Areas
Tourism offers huge potential as a catalyst for a positive change, fresh ideas, new opportunities and ultimately a vibrant future for rural areas as countryside and rural ways of life continue to change. The Rural Area Tourism Healthcheck helps rural communities to strengthen their tourism offering.
Hidden Britain
is an initiative with the twin aims of encouraging tourists to go off the beaten path and take time to explore the more secluded areas of our countryside, and ensuring rural communities get the best return from tourism by giving the decision-making power to the community as a whole.
