Tee-ing off into Tourism

The traditional Golf sector has changed dramatically over the past ten years as a result of social, economic and environmental pressures. For many Golf Courses in the South East, these factors are having a detrimental effect on the core business strategy.

TSE believes carefully managed tourism can help overcome some of the challenges facing golf clubs today and can contribute to their future viability. A study has been undertaken to investigate the health of the golf tourism sector and identify and explore a range of visitor based business solutions.
The core objectives of the study are:

  • to improve market intelligence on the South East golf product and golf consumers;
  • to identify and explore product development opportunities for Golf courses within the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire sub-region as a model for the whole of the South East to learn from;
  • to provide guidance featuring feasibility models and business case studies for golf courses to use when exploring their business opportunities.

The outputs of the study will be business guidance notes for the sector and a product development summary document. For further information please contact Gary Lord or 023 8062 5498

Integrated Golf and Accommodation Packages

Tourism South East and TeeGenius are working together to bring more golfers and visitors into the region. TSE have developed a partnership with TeeGenius as a tee-booking and marketing website to compliment TSE's own accommodation information and on-line booking website. This will allow for both real-time tee and accommodation bookings on-line.
