New National Code of Practice for Visitor Attractions
VisitBritain have announced a new National Code of Practice for visitor attractions to update and replace the earlier Visitors' Charter.
VisitBritain say that the new code will provide an opportunity for all attractions to declare their commitment to quality. The code will contain age old undertakings such as providing accurate information to visitors and newer requirements such as recognition of sustainability issues which reflect recent changes.
The most important point to be recognised for visitor attractions is that from April 1st 2008, VisitBritain intends to restrict marketing of attractions including website listings and promotion to those who have registered their commitment to the code.
Anyone who would like more information on this should contact VisitBritain on 020 8563 3309 or email: qad@visitbritain.org
